The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) just announced that they will hold an online MBA Fair on November 22 and 23, 2010. Dubbed as the Global GMATCH Virtual MBA Fair, the fair allows business schools to reach prospective students coming from faraway areas – those who otherwise would not have access to the traditional physical MBA fairs organized by QS World MBA Tour and The MBA Tour.

It’s the very first time GMAC has put together this kind of an MBA event, which they have billed as “the first truly global virtual fair.” The online MBA fair will be open for four hours on each of the two days in November and at times designed so students from different time zones can take part. The session on November 22 is best for prospective students in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, while the one held on November 23 is targeted towards students in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and the Pacific Islands.

Over 40 business schools have registered to participate, including the following top-tier schools: London Business School, INSEAD, the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, the UCLA Anderson School of Management, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Singapore’s Nanyang Business School. The fair will have online booths manned by admissions officers, who will use webcams to interact face-to-face with prospective MBA candidates. There also will be a multimedia auditorium where applicants can download brochures and information on the various institutions, join interactive presentations, and meet alumni and current students at their target schools.

The fair is free of charge for prospective MBA students. Register for the Global GMATCH Virtual MBA Fair.
