A lot of small business owners do not have the business knowledge required to scale and grow their businesses, and are looking to pursue further business education. However, most of them cannot afford to quit working and return to school to take advanced business studies.

In response to the needs of these small business owners, Leslie Roberts, a former business school professor at University of Calgary, has created GoForth Institute, an online school for small business entrepreneurs. The online course at GoForth consists of ten one-hour video modules on demand. Subject areas include relevant business topics, such as “Small Business Legal Issues” and “Demystifying Financial Statements”.

“There has been a need in the marketplace in Canada for a comprehensive, affordable, convenient solution for delivering entrepreneurship education to Canada’s micro entrepreneurs,” said Leslie Roberts. “I’ve been thinking about it for a long time and the opportunity for me came in 2009. I was teaching an MBA course in creating a high-potential, high-growth company and I took my own advice.”

The online course materials are relevant and practical. The course costs $295 for ten videos. The price also includes free access to course materials and access to teachers.
